Why BioniQ 2.9mm narrow implants are different: unreduced prosthetic options
This is what sets BioniQ 2.9mm apart from competing narrow implant systems.
BioniQ 2.9mm delivers the complete range of prosthetic components. Manufactured from high-strength titanium, LASAK’s reduced-diameter implants provide the prosthetic flexibility you need for single-tooth replacement and complete jaw reconstruction – without the limitations. Their strength has been validated by 25 years of clinical success. Some cases are described in our clinical casebook. A complete range of conventional prosthetic components with a conical internal connection is available for cemented, screw-retained, and hybrid restorations. Components for customized solutions, such as CAD/CAM superstructures or CEREC, are of course also available.
Reduced in diameter – but not in prosthetic options
Available with smooth or rough neck
Safety and efficiency in handling
Maximum bone preservation and stable soft tissue volume
Lifetime guarantee on implants and prosthetics
Reduced in diameter – but not in prosthetic options
With the wide range of components for narrow 2.9 mm implants, you can meet your patients’ high aesthetic expectations and perform prosthetically driven implant planning. The patient can be treated with all conventional prosthetic components for cemented, screw-retained, and hybrid restorations (STANDARD, Esthetic, Screw-On, temporary abutments, straight and angulated PrimeLOC attachments and Ti bases Uni-Base). With components for customized solutions such as CAD/CAM superstructures, CEREC Ti bases or Premill abutments, we aim to offer individualized and flexible implant-prosthetic options.
Minimally invasive treatment
The reduced-diameter BioniQ S2.9 implants are ideal for situations where treatment with standard implants is problematic or not possible – typically in cases of limited bone or space availability in the anterior region. The reduced diameter often eliminates the need for bone augmentation, avoiding extended treatment times and potential complications.
Thanks to the apically tapered, self-tapping design, this narrow implant is suitable even for patients where primary stability is crucial. The hydrophilic BIO-surface accelerates osseointegration, resulting in:
- Reduced healing time
- Earlier achievement of secondary stability
The implant shape contributes to maximum bone preservation. Due to the modified implant neck with low roughness, or the completely smooth neck variant, stable soft tissue volume around the implant can be achieved.
Available with smooth or rough neck
Choose between two variants of the reduced-diameter implants of 2.9 mm to match your clinical needs:
- “Bone level” variant – BioniQ implants with rough neck
- “Tissue level” variant – BioniQ Plus implants with 1.7 mm machined collar
Healing can occur either subgingivally or transgingivally. The internal cone with internal hexagon ensures a firm, tightly sealed implant-abutment connection for long-lasting reliability.
The narrow 2.9mm implants and their components integrate fully with digital workflows. Whether you plan digitally or prefer guided surgery, the reduced-diameter BioniQ S2.9 implant is available in all popular planning software systems.
Safety and efficiency in handling
The number of instruments has been minimized. The instruments for reduced-diameter implants are part of the same instrument cassette used for all other BioniQ implant diameters. If you already use the BioniQ implant system, no new surgical cassette is needed. All instruments are color-coded and logically arranged for intuitive use. Drill stops ensure safety during surgical preparation.
Maximum bone preservation and stable soft tissue volume
In cases of platform shifting (also known as platform switching), the emergence diameter of the abutment is reduced to approximately match the diameter of the implant connection. This helps preserve the surrounding bone and ensures stable soft tissue volume. This approach aligns with current trends toward improved soft tissue management and optimal aesthetics of the prosthetic superstructure.
LASAK has been producing reduced-diameter implants for 25 years. These implants have proven particularly useful in the anterior region and in elderly patients. Their mechanical strength and aesthetic outcomes are validated by extensive clinical use.
